Pinterest: A New Era
CES 2024
CES marked a bold new chapter for Pinterest. It was our moment to show the world we’re not just where people find inspiration, we’re where they take action.
The creative idea, Pinterest: A New Era, set out to land a bold, confident message that signalled Pinterest’s evolution into a serious performance platform driving Gen Z shopping actions. It was a pivotal moment for advertisers to see the platform in a whole new light, as a place where culture meets commerce and inspiration turns into outcomes.
The moment guests arrived, they felt it. A towering illuminated Pin-shaped entrance announced A New Era in glowing letters, part billboard and part portal, pulling people into a space that felt confident, elevated, and alive. Inside, deep midnight purples, bright oranges, and layers of neon light created an atmosphere charged with possibility.
Floor-to-ceiling photographic murals told the story of Pinterest’s audience in action — people creating, experimenting, and living the ideas they’d found on the platform.
Each scene was curated to showcase Pinterest’s diverse audience across Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Men, capturing a wide range of real-life use cases from fashion and beauty to home, fitness, celebrations, entertainment, and parenting. Overlaid with the UI of the Pinterest board that inspired each moment, the imagery brought to life the uniquely action-oriented nature of people on Pinterest.
An audience brought to life
At the centre of it all was the Gen Zenius Bar, a hands-on space dedicated to the generation shaping what’s next. Guests explored the biggest Gen Z-driven trends, experimented with our new Collages format, and saw first-hand how this discovery-obsessed audience thinks in layers, not lines.
With help from Gen Z creators, marketers experienced it for themselves, trying on trending looks, experimenting with colours, and remixing their own style using Pinterest’s newest tools. From Hot Metals makeovers to Eclectic Grandpastyling, it was playful, insightful, and perfectly Pinterest.
Gen Zenius Bar
Around the room, collage-inspired installations turned Pinterest Predicts trends into tactile worlds. Designed like immersive concept stores, each one showcased how Collages transform inspiration into something shoppable, creative, and real. It was part retail theatre, part art piece, and every inch of it designed to spark imagination.
